General Grants are awarded up-to two times per year to qualified non-profit organizations within Worth County and the surrounding areas. Several million dollars have been granted to the areas listed below. The focus on grants include:
In a growing county, we feel what new residents will look for is amenities. WCDA has generously given grants to libraries, fairs, city parks, county parks, churches, museums, theatres and more.
The WCDA has felt that it is not only important to “Grow Worth County,” but to also improve existing infrastructure. In this area focus has applied to city buses, cemeteries, roads improvements, community centers, water and sewer systems, and more.
The WCDA takes the safety and protection of our residents seriously. We have granted every fire department, in all 7 towns in our county, a new fire truck, protective gear and equipment. We have also granted police cars, generators, drug dogs, city sirens, EMT vehicles, etc.
WCDA feels it is important to take care of our most humanistic organizations and has awarded grants to Humane Societies, Meals on Wheels, medical equipment, Public Health entities, food shelves, and more.
In order to market Worth County, WCDA has awarded over several thousands of dollars to city celebrations, historical societies, parks and museums.
